We all deal with stress differently and our response to an event that may be new, unexpected or threatening may depend on many factors such as environment, upbringing, genetics, personality and more.


Stress thatโ€™s in the workplace or our home can often crossover into one another and an unhealthy balance can occur when we donโ€™t manage it properly.


Itโ€™s important to differentiate ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฌ and ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ time, keeping the two seperate if youโ€™re able to, however with many of us working from home during these challenging times, it can make that balance a bit blurry and it can be very easy to keep working into your night, checking your emails all the time or making some last minute phone calls that could really wait until tomorrow.


๐™Ž๐™ค, ๐™๐™ค๐™ฌ ๐™˜๐™–๐™ฃ ๐™ฌ๐™š ๐™๐™š๐™ก๐™ฅ ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง๐™จ๐™š๐™ก๐™ซ๐™š๐™จ? ๐™ƒ๐™š๐™ง๐™š ๐™–๐™ง๐™š ๐™จ๐™ค๐™ข๐™š ๐™จ๐™ช๐™œ๐™œ๐™š๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™จ:


โ€ข Keep similar boundaries as you would have in the workplace


โ€ข Take your appropriate lunch and coffee breaks


โ€ข Write down your daily tasks and prioritise them


โ€ข Know that insignificant tasks can usually wait until tomorrow


โ€ข Make time for yourself and your family


โ€ข Take time to relax and enjoy your interests/hobbies


โ€ข If you can, avoid โ€˜checkingโ€™ work related things out of your work hours


โ€ข Delegate tasks if your workload is too much



There are many things we can do to help balance our home and work life better and itโ€™s about finding what works for you.


On the other hand, there are also many jobs that are quite demanding and it can make it difficult to unwind and seperate ourselves from that after a long day, but itโ€™s just as equally important to try and reduce it if you can.
